What if I trusted my Child?

What if we stop shaming and belittling our children for being human?

What if we respect them when they say ‘no’?

What if we value their opinion?

What if we accept that they make mistakes and are able to learn from them?

What if we acknowledge that they are experts on themselves?

What if we give back the autonomy that we took from them?

What if we trust and respect our children?

The world would be a better place. Our children would be empowered and equipped. They would know themselves and their own mind. They would be confident in directing their own steps and managing their own lives.

We would be their allies. We would be their support and their advocate. We would help them reassess and evaluate, remember and celebrate. We would cheer as they flourish.

Life learning is about trusting kids to learn what they need to know and about helping them to learn and grow in their own ways. It is about respecting the everyday experiences that enable children to understand and interact with the world and their culture
